Today has been a gathering your thoughts and planning the next part of the trip kind of day. We’ve booked a hotel at Surabaya in Java so that’s a start. Now we need to book some train tickets for the Java side and arrange a car to take us from Ubud to the ferry port! We had to stock up on a few more provisions so a quick trip to the shops and then I needed to lie in the sunshine …this is a holiday after all!
We had another fine feast at a local restaurant called Tygr. It was a bustling venue specialising in Sushi rolls …there were vegetarian options but I had a vegan Ramen (nicely spiced) and Paul had a vegan poke bowl. Lovely sitting there watching people (most of whom were Russian or Eastern European) come and go. There was an amazing lightning storm this evening - sheet and fork lightning lit up the night sky.
