Up at 6 and out for a scrumptious breakfast bowl at Alchemy before our long journey to Gilimanuk Ferry port. The taxi picked us up at 8 … it was lovely to driven as we could just sit back and enjoy the views which at times were quite spectacular. The main road has the ocean on one side and mountains on the other…I didn’t know which to look at at times!
The ferry crossing was smooth and we arrived at Ketapang at 11.30 local time. We had some very dubious vehicles presented to us as a potential taxi to the hotel, including a little yellow van with a very dodgy bench seat! Eventually spotted a vehicle marked taxi … it was ancient but it had seats so we went for it. Think it could be the only taxi in town as he picked us up again the next morning! Java is 1hr behind Bali. The hotel is lovely with an infinity pool, landscaped grounds and a sea view. We spent the afternoon / evening enjoying it all.

| The ferry crossing from Gilimanuk, Bali to Ketapang, Java was amazing. The scenery was beautiful. The Bali straits are served by many ferries. They are very basic but so cheap - £2 for both of us. |
