Breakfast was an amazing spread both in choices available and in presentation. The fruit is properly ripe with a depth of flavour that is sometimes missing at home. I love that there is patisserie on the menu as well as many traditional Indonesian dishes both savoury and sweet.

We took a walk towards the river to the submarine museum and wandered around getting quite lost but also getting a feel for this part of the city. It is also very apparent that tourism has suffered since the pandemic as Paul and I were constantly heckled … Hello.. where you from?… I get a picture? We went to a shopping centre as I had to buy a new suitcase… it was like a city within the city. Had amazing service though and found a bargain (?) suitcase with 4 wheels. When we got out of there the heavens had opened for the afternoon rains. Back at the hotel we had a swim in the rain and a read in the gardens til dusk (6.30pm). Booked a tour for the following day.

| As we walked around we found an area of the city where there were nurseries and flower stalls. |
