Hey it’s not raining! We took a car to My Son to see the ancient temple complex. So lovely to be in the countryside with the forests and mountains all around. From the car park to the site entrance we had a ride on an electric shuttle bus. We decided to take the rear facing back seat not knowing that the driver was a wannabe formula 1 driver … he took the hill and the corners at great speed … we were clinging on for dear life but laughing all the way. It was a fascinating place to explore.
Back at the hotel we decided to borrow some bikes and explore the peninsula.the bikes were not in the best state of repair but it was a quiet road so we risked it. It was great to ride through the residential areas and see people going about their daily lives. A good antidote to all the touristy bits.
We went into Hoi An for dinner at a hidden away vegan restaurant called Chickpea. Again splendid food prepared especially for us. Hoi An is beautiful at night with lanterns lit and boats festooned on the river. It’s busier at night than in the day.
